4:30 marathon

4:30 Team! 10/04/09

Hello All,

We were a small group this weekend. Not just our 4:30 team, but the entire In Motion group. The wind seemed to scare a lot of people off. But it was a great 20 mile run. According to my watch, our time was 3 hours and 41 minutes. And for the most part the wind kept us rather cool. But don't get me wrong, there were some points where the wind was a little too much. As for next week, we're changing the meeting time to 6:00am. Again, we're meeting at 6:00AM ON SUNDAY, DECEMBER 11. We'll be doing 13 miles. I know some of you will not be there because you are involved in other events. I want to wish everyone luck. And I hope to see you all again soon. In the meantime, keep running!

Daniel

4:30 Team! 09/27/09

Hi All,

Well, the cooler temperatures are finally here. I don't know about everyone else, but I thought this Sunday felt really good. The weather was nice, and it's only going to get better. We had some issues with the route, and I think a lot of us were a little confused toward the end about where to go. But ultimately, I think Sunday served it's purpose. We got a good feel for the route, and exactly what the terrain will be like on race day. We should all give Tim a big thanks for organizing the whole thing. It required a lot of work on his part, as does every weekend. Thank You Tim! I hope everyone is doing their homework. This Sunday we hit the trail and do 20 miles. It will be the longest distance ever run for many, but I have no doubts that everyone will be just fine. Everyone looked really good on Sunday, keep up the good work, and do that homework!

4:30 Team! 09/13/09

Hi Team,

Good job this Sunday. It was a hot and long run, but you all looked strong. The next 2 weeks will be a nice step back. We'll be doing an easy 13 miles for the next couple of meetings. Hopefully when we have our next long run in 3 weeks, the temperatures will be better. We'll also be making plans soon to meet somewhere along the strip, in order to run part of the route for December. Tim will let us know when that will exactly happen. Anyway, keep up the good work, do your homework, and I hope to see you all for 13 miles on the 20th.

4:30 Team! 8/30/09

Hi 4:30 Team!

Good work this last Sunday. It was a hot one and we had to deal with the smoke from California. I was hoping we would all be able to stick together, but I thought everyone looked strong. And when ever anyone isn't physically feeling good, it's important to always listen to your body. Those of you who finished with me, I can tell you we had an overall time of 2:25:31. That's about a 10:40 pace, per mile. That's a great time, but let's remember to pace ourselves. We have a long way to go before we need to worry about moving at race pace, which is about 10:18 per mile. And it will be easier to reach that as the temperatures cool.

We had a few new team members this weekend. Sue, Bobby and Larry. (I was unable to get Larry's email before he left, so he won't get this note.) We want to welcome you all to the team. And we hope to see a lot more of you. I'm sure the team may gain a few more people as the temperature drop, and December approaches.

This coming weekend, September 6th, we're scheduled to do 15 miles. I unfortunately won't be able to make it. I'm actually having minor outpatient leg surgery this Friday. So I'll be in recovery mode this weekend. But I plan to be camped out at the 2nd water stop, passing out water. So I hope to see many of you there. I hope to rejoin you all on September 13. Until then, I'll keep in touch by email, and text. If you'd like some words of encouragement during the week, and I don't have your cell number, please email me your number and I'll add you to my list.

Until next time, everyone do your homework!

Daniel

4:30 Team! 08/16/09

Hi Gang!

Everyone is very missed. We were joined again by our friend Chris, who's taking time off from the 4:15 group, while he recovers from an injury. Julie was back after her "Jim Time". And let me say, Julie was ready to go this Sunday! She showed up and took off, with me chasing after her. When it was all said in done, we finished our 10 miles with a 10:24 pace. Not too bad! Allison, I know you were fishing, but I hope you're doing your homework. We look forward to seeing you out there. Teri says day 1 on the new job went well. We'll see how much she goes through this week. But we hope you have the energy to join us Teri. And let's all make sure to show her some love and support this week. And Cindy is happy to report she's doing much better. She taking her time to get back to speed, but she assures me she'll be getting back on track. We can't wait! Everyone keep up the good work.

See you soon,

Daniel
