Ryan the Terrible
Fearless co-Leader,
the Flying 2:15
Ryan Young (aka Ryan the Terrible)
Third year pacing the 2:15 half marathon group.
I've run one marathon and three half-marathons, several 10k's, countless 5k races and one failed triathlon: pneumonia + Lake Mead in April = a Bad Idea.
I've been running with the Las Vegas Track Club for four years and currently serve as the Treasurer. I moved to Las Vegas 5 years ago from Fresno, California. I enjoy the social aspect of running, the friends I've made and the opportunity to travel and run with new people. Fresh air and exercise are just a nice bonus. My favorite run was along the Mississippi River, starting at the Gateway Arch and running north along the route of Lewis and Clark. They made it to the Pacific, I turned around a bit sooner.
I'm supporting an Asics Gel Kayano addiction by working for a company providing repair information to the auto industry, and I bought a Chrysler minivan anyway. It will serve us well this year, serving as mobile bar and shuttle vehicle for some off-the-wall training runs this year.
Stay tuned!
Erin Tasko - co-pace-leading the 2:15 group with Ryan.
Erin Tasko has been running with Las Vegas in Motion and the Las Vegas Track Club since 2007. As of June 2009, she has completed three half-marathons, with a PR of 2:07:38 at Six Tunnels in March 2009. Her husband, Jared, also runs (although much faster), and they can often be seen together at LVTC Saturday races. Besides running, Erin stays active through hiking, biking, and aerobics. She also enjoys reading, playing video games, and cooking/eating. She is originally from Pennsylvania but has lived in Las Vegas for nearly twenty years and graduated from UNLV in 2006 with a degree in Education. She will be co-pace leading the 2:15 half-marathon group on Sunday mornings.
Korie Maxfield - 2:30 and up half marathon group
“Korie Maxfield was born here in Las Vegas, but spent part of her life living in Utah. She keeps herself busy by working full time in the Environmental Health field, taking care of her family, finishing her bachelor’s degree, and of course, marathon training. She enjoys the great outdoors and has been know to participate in various adventures such as SCUBA diving, bungee jumping, and throwing herself out of perfectly good airplanes. Korie has since traded in her parachute and has found a new high with running and fitness. She has been active in the local running community since 2006 (thanks to LVTC and Tim Kelly) and she has completed four half marathons and two marathons with a PR of 5:35 in St. George, UT. Korie will be leading pace group for the 2:30 and up half marathoners on Sunday mornings with the Henderson group and hopes to see you there.”
